How Can I See What Daye I Installed An App On S9+

I have noticed that no matter what app it is , big in size like 500 mb + or small in size 5 mb , it takes multiple seconds to get installed.

It gets downloaded immediately and then it gets stuck in installing for about 7-8 seconds .

Did not used to happen on my iphone.
Did not see this thing in any android as well .

What are your views?

It's normal for Exynos phones. It was the same on my s9+ and s10+. Just Samsung being lazy and not wanting to optimize.

That is not the case with the s21. There are plenty of videos showing the exynos next to a snap and the speeds are the same.

Especially with the updates of the last months these speed issues are cleared out.

The guy having slower installations could be due to a 100 reasons and he has not specified enough info to rule in any conclusion.

Ok, then all my Samsung phones must be defect, including my s21ultra.

Side by side with my Huawei p30 pro, I updated Samsung browser. It took 5 seconds on Huawei and 12 seconds on my s21 ultra. I uninstalled the update and reinstall. The second time, Huawei still took 5 seconds, but the 21ultra went up to 15 seconds. The 3rd time, 16 seconds for Samsung, still 5 for Huawei.

Huawei p30 pro has a 7nm SoC that was launched in 2018 vs a 5nm 2021 SoC on Samsung. What a shame for Samsung.

This the only problem I have with Exynos phones. Samsung couldn't care less about optimising app instalation process.

If you are so certain it is exynos, at least try and explain how do you know that installations are so much faster on SNAP?

My s9+ was okay with installation speeds and my s21 is way faster.

I just tested and installed a 119mb APK, it took exactly 4 seconds for the installation to be completed trough a file manager.

Read my previous post. It's not just Snapdragon. Uninstall the Samsung browser updates and reinstall. Tell me how long it takes. What was the 119mb app that you installed? So I can try on my ultra.

It all boils down to pre-existing software and settings. Some may be user adjusted settings, and others are pre-adjusted ROM settings by the manufacturer. At the end of the day it could also be the playstore being different. And also security settings performing extra scans that slow the process down...

So I updated my Samsung browser and it was an 80MB update, the moment it downloaded, it took 14 seconds to install.

Then I updated my Brave Browser and the download was 78MB, the installation was barely 2.5 seconds.

It likely also has to do with the way the app files are structured.

And you just said it was not the type of CPU but software with this statement "Samsung couldn't care less about optimising app instalation process". Also, you are comparing an android version 10 phone to 11, the new Google Play services now support app bundles, delivery optimisation, instant play and various other changes to the installation process.

Please do not speak poorly of people who have reservations regarding vax's. You do not know for a fact if they are right or wrong. Plenty of scientists have come out and expressed serious concerns about vax's, old and new, and it is a fact that big pharma suppresses what doesn't suit their interests.

Other than that, you are perfectly right about the comparison with oranges and apples and software functioning differently on different devices and OS versions.

I'm not anti-exynos, quite the opposite, look at my post history.

I don't even know it's Exynos? How is that? The OP phone is exynos and my phone is exynos and I compared it with kirin and Snapdragon phones. Not just s21, but s9+ and s10+ too. The other phones have that app scanning thing on too and it doesn't slow them down.

And a cpu can be optimize to run better through software uodates, wtf are you on about? I didn't say Exynos is a bad cpu.

Btw, I had my anti-covid vaccines months ago.

Have you tried making a spreadsheet to track the app and the install time?

Then do a factory reset and reinstall the same apps and track the times in another column, to see how close the times are.

It could be the way software just is, like how when you have a fresh windows 10 installation, every app installs super fast, but after a while the registry gets cluttered and subsequent installs are slower.

maybe android is similar in how it just slows the software install process as you install more apps?

But I think this theory could also explain the bizarre behavior reported above, where the same exact app is installed/uninstalled but the time needed to perform early installs is less than the time needed for the later installs, even though it's the exact same app.
